Hong Kong- IP commercialisation gets a boost
Hong Kong moved another step forward in providing a friendly environment for intellectual property transactions with the introduction of the Inland Revenue (Amendment) (No2) Bill 2011 into the Legislative Council. The Bill will amend various sections of the Inland Revenue Ordinance (Cap. 112). Currently capital expenditure is profit tax deductible only when in the case of patent rights and rights to “know-how”.
